Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders

Mumbai Indians won by 9 runs

MUM: 148/6 (20.0 Ovs)

KOL: 139/6 (20.0 Ovs)

Tendulkar:
JP really set the match for us. If he hadn't batted till the end, the target would have been different. The bowlers up front, Zaheer and other guys, everyone chippped in. This total was a very good one.
McCullum: It was disappointing. I thought we played well, we fielded well, boys put all they had into it. We obviously lost two of our best players inside 6 overs. Hodge and Morne played really well but we weren't able to kick on towards the end. I thought when someone like Malinga bowls as accurately as he did it's very difficult to access the boundaries.

Bangalore's third victory in IPL session 2009

Rayal Challangers Bangalore : 145/9 (20overs)
Kings XI Punjab : 137/7
Kumble:
It was a great game. After losing 3 wickets in 3 balls van der Merwe played fantastically well to get us to 145. All the other guys rallied around him. 145 on this wicket, we certainly backed ourselves. Yuvraj likes pace on the ball, I wanted to take the pace off and it worked. Yuvraj was going great guns if he had stayed for another 5 or so runs the game was over. It was difficult to grip the ball as the dew was very heavy. Praveen being a experienced bowler, I backed him, he bowled brilliantly in the final over. In this game the intensity was brilliant. We are improving in every game and hoping this winning streak continues.

Scored a fifty, took a hat-trick, but lost the game. We should have won the game, but I think we did not get enough partnerships, Bangalore bowled really well and never gave us the chance to hit big sixes at the end of the game. Cant blame the wicket. Got to play good cricket.
